Inspired by Shaheen Miro's latest post, I have decided to do a small reading with the Wisdom of the Hidden Realms. I want to know what we need to let go of and what we need to nurture in the coming year.
First I asked "what do we need to release in 2012?". I got The Sun Dancers reversed - that means that this card is challenging us. Originally, its message is about abundance and having fun... as a challenger, it tells us to not lose ourselves in dream of what may be. We need to work on the now, live the now, for the present is the only moment in which anything can be done.
What we need to release is our constant worry about tomorrow, specially if it does not help us to work on our today. It's not that we should live each day carelessly, no. Pay your bills, save some money, work, eat well, exercise, have fun, be with the people you love -- all this is essential, for today and for tomorrow. But do not give the future more weight than it deserves. Do not base your life on prophecies. Try to make your present good, to the best of your ability.
My second question was "what do we need to nurture in 2012?" and I got The Camel Boy. Also reversed - another challenger. It seems we will be challenged in the coming year, to change our habits and vision. The Camel Boy, as a challenger, reminds us that we need to take care of our mundane lives. Society is constantly giving us a message that having a trivial life is negative, boring and a sign of lack of creativity. If you take it to an extreme, it may be so. But our mundane lives help us to keep us grounded... only with our feet firmly planted on mother earth that we can rise our hands and worship the universe.
In the coming year, we need to nurture our ability to handle our routine in a healthy manner. Remember when The Sun Dancers told us to not live only in our dreams? Here's is where this advice finds a way to express itself. Big things are accomplished through small steps. How can someone be wise and enlightened if they cannot wash their dishes and get the garbage outside? Even though society tells us these things are below us, they are not. They are our responsibility, and through this discipline we find strength and perseverance to cope with bigger challenges in life. Creativity and inspiration are important, but they are useless if you haven't learn how to put them into practice.
The Camel Boy also tells us that 2012 will be a good time for decluttering. So if you have been wanting to clean your closets, your book shelves, your home or even your thoughts, it'll be a proper time to do so.
Above all, do not let the negative prophecies and ideas plague you. Think about them, but take care of your life, the chores and the pleasures of it. I know the nitty-gritty of daily life gets boring compared to the idea of massive world transformation (be it good or bad), but even these huge events start with small things. Balance fun and work, use your present time wisely, take small steps... even if nothing big happens in 2012, your life will surely be transformed.

I super LOVE this post. I love this deck, also. I'm really drawn to the Colette Baron-Reid decks, apparently. I've been enjoying the Enchanted Map Oracle since it came out.
ReplyDeleteBesides, who knew that 'Camel Boy' could be so charming? Haha. I think it's interesting that they both came reversed. Like the Enchanted Map Oracle, it seems like this deck's reversals are very insightful.
Speaking of de-cluttering, we're in the process of doing that now. We started in October in prep for the house sale, and we're finishing up now--listing next week. We'll be donating stuff tomorrow. I love the feeling after donating a bunch of stuff. It's so freeing.
I hope you have a most wonderful 2012, free from doomsday prophecies.
Minty Hugs,
MM
Hi Marina,
ReplyDeleteSo well said, "take care of your life, the chores and the pleasures of it." I laughed out loud at your, how can they be wise and enlightened if they can't wash the dishes and take the garbage out?! Lovely post, thank you :)

@ MM: Hi! Happy new year my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I really like Colette Baron-Reid's deck. I do not have the Enchanted Map Oracle but I wish to get it when possible. I too found it interesting that both cards came as challengers... I believe that 2012 will be an year of challenge, but nothing "doomsday" like. We will be tested in order to be transformed. We have to take care of our lives, and of our world.
Thank you for sharing how the message relates to your life! This is SO important to me! <3 I like when my readings help others!
